Stayed one week June 21 to 30. Cottage was perfect, clean and well stocked with a splendid view.

We had a lot of rain but enjoyed watching movies as every imajinable TV service was available.

When we did have a sunny day, the verandah provided a lovely spot to watch the world go by.

Hosts were the best. always available if needed

Will definitely recommend and hope to get back.

We really enjoyed our stay in the studio cottage near the water. It was spotlessly clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. Mark and Gina were wonderful hosts, easy to reach and happy to answer any questions. It’s only a minute’s drive to Bird Island Boat Tours, and close to the excellent Cedar House Bakery & Restaurant. We recommend View of the Sea Cottages to anyone wanting to explore the Bras d’Or Lakes region of Cape Breton!

We are return guests to View of the Sea Cottages; absolutely LOVE staying there with our two kids in Cottage 1! We were there this past May for a week and honestly, the cottage is clean and comfortable, the surrounding property is beautiful with breathtaking views and the hosts Mark and Gina, really are the nicest people. Coming home from away, it’s great to have a place to bring family and friends over, to cook a meal or have a BBQ. Every time we go back home, we always check to see if they have any availability, before we check anywhere else!

Having just spent my third annual holiday at View of the Sea Cottages, I am glad to say nothing’s changed — it’s only gotten better. The location is beautiful and convenient, and the cottages are immaculately maintained. And hosts Mark and Gina couldn’t be friendlier or more helpful. On top of that, every time I return, there are significant upgrades to each cottage– more deck space, new appliances, new windows. They treat this like their own home. If there’s a downside its that I can’t actually live here.

Gina and Mark are fine hosts, willing to accommodate late arrival and help with anything.*

Wonderful view of Bras d’Or Lake, Autumn colours across the way, sunrises plus interesting configurations of fog.

Exceptionally clean and well-stocked with linens, towels, kitchen items and there is abundant storage for clothes in bureaus and closets. There’s a standing fan and extra blankets so one can be cooler or warmer whatever the weather. Spacious kitchen and living room with comfortable sofas and chairs, including those outdoors.

TV, internet and streaming options include international channels.

It’s centrally located for Celtic Colours – venues within 95 minutes drive.

Lots of maps and pamphlets in the living room in case you need more ideas for one’s tourist ‘duties.’

We would have appreciated better lighting outside cottage 1 for our late night returns, or a light colored strip at the edge of the veranda and on each step.

We hope to be back.
